Pork Noodles with Thai Scotch Egg
by Rod Lum Noodle in Bangkok, Thailand
A new noodle shop opened up in my neighborhood, and of course I had to try it!
Rod Lum Noodle is located in Bangkok's Chatuchak neighborhood on Ladphrao Road between MRT Phahonyothin and MRT Ladphrao Station and almost directly across the road from Big C Ladphrao.

The noodle bowl was excellent.
A serving of Thai egg noodles formed the base of the bowl, which was generously topped with tender slices of pork, meaty pork balls, and fatty and decadent crispy pork belly. Fresh bok choy and crunchy bean sprouts added texture and brightness, while a sprinkle of crushed peanuts brought a hint of rich depth.
While it shared many common elements with traditional Thai noodle dishes, the execution here was exceptional. The result was a bowl that didn’t flair to shine, yet its excellence lay in its balance and authenticity.

I also ordered Rod Lum's famous Thai Scotch egg on the side.
The Thai Scotch eggs were made from a boiled egg enwrapped within a crispy fried breaded crust infused with herbs and stuffed with minced pork.
The eggs were served with a sweet and sour tom yum-inspired dipping sauce to drizzle over the jammy split egg yolks.
