"CrackGriddle" Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Pancake Breakfast Sandwich at Crackhouse, Bangkok, Thailand

"CrackGriddle" Breakfast Sandwich

by Crackhouse, Bangkok, Thailand

Good morning, Bangkok!

My quest for the best breakfast in Bangkok continues, and today, I found myself visiting Crackhouse, a breakfast restaurant in Bangkok that is all about eggs.

The menu looked so good that it was very difficult to decide what to order. I finally decided on the "CrackGriddle", a breakfast sandwich made with a thick patty of maple breakfast sausage, a layer of egg, and melted cheddar cheese sandwiched between two thick and fluffy pancakes served with a glass of cold-pressed orange juice and a cup of hot black coffee.

Crackhouse is a sister restaurant to Fowlmouth, Bangkok's famous Nashville hot chicken restaurant, which is home to the famous hot chicken sandwich and Bangkok's best hot chicken and waffles, both of which are phenomenal. I had very high expectations when ordering from Crackhouse, and I was not disappointed!

The sandwich took a bit of time to arrive because every element of the meal - down to the pancakes that make up the sandwich's bun - is made fresh. When it arrived, my mouth was already watering.

I had a choice between bacon and maple breakfast sausage for the main meat of the sandwich. I chose sausage, though I'm sure both options would be fantastic. The sausage patty was thick, rich, juicy, and sweet, made with all of the classic American breakfast sausage flavors and spices. The main flavor though, was the iconic breakfast maple syrup infused into the juicy pork meat.

The meat was topped with a scrambled omelette and sat upon a melted piece of delicious cheddar cheese for a perfect breakfasty combination.

The sandwich was served between two very thick, fluffy, and soft pancakes that made up the bun. You can also order a classic American "short stack" with maple syrup and berries if you are just into the pancake portion of the meal.

I ordered a glass of cold-pressed orange juice to drink, which came out sweet, fresh, and pulpy - exactly the way I prefer!

I also bought a cup of their fresh, hot coffee, which comes from Roots, a local coffee roastery based in Bangkok's Thonglor neighborhood.
