Salmon BLT
at the Bridgewater Bistro, Astoria, Oregon
I was on a road trip with my family around Washington State, and one day, we decided to drive across the border to Astoria, Oregon to visit the Lewis and Clark National Historical Park.
Located on the far northwestern tip of Oregon State in the USA, Astoria is the oldest city in Oregon and the first permanent American settlement west of the Rockies. Astoria was once the salmon and tuna cannery capital of the world. More salmon were caught in the Columbia River than in any other place on Earth. Today, it's a sleepy resort town with a population of around 10,000 residents.
It was lunchtime when we arrived in Oregon, and we decided to stop in at the Bridgewater Bistro where I had a salmon BLT, one of the best sandwiches that I've ever had in my life.

The toasted ciabatta bun was buttered, slathered in mayo, and layered with fresh lettuce, slices of juicy tomato, thick cuts of crispy bacon, and a huge fillet of savory, flaky, grilled salmon.

I ordered the lunch set, which came with a side of my choice. I opted for the coleslaw, which was excellent.
The menu at Bridgewater Bistro focuses on Pacific Northwest flavors; fresh local seafood, hearty seasonal dishes, house-baked breads, and an impressive wine list. I definitely recommend ordering something made with fish, specifically the local-caught salmon, as it's pretty much as fresh and delicious as it's possible to get.
