by Fuzhou Black Pepper Bun, Raohe Street Night Market, Taipei, Taiwan
I landed in Taipei in late afternoon, and after taking the train to the city, checking in, and dropping my luggage off at the hotel, I was off to Raohe Street Market. It was the first place I wanted to visit in Taiwan before anything else!
Raohe Street Night Market is one of the most popular night markets in the city, and the most famous food for sale is the Michelin Bib Gourmand Award-winning Black Pepper Pork Bun.

Fuzhou Black Pepper Bun is a Michelin Bib Gourmand street food cart that always has a long line of hungry customers wrapped around it. Fortunately, the line moves fast, and the food is worth the 10-15-minute wait.
The pepper pork buns are made of juicy marinated minced pork mixed with black pepper and lots of green onions stuffed inside a flaky bun of dough topped with sesame seeds and grilled to a golden-brown inside a clay and brick oven. They are served piping hot right off of the heat and have a delicious smoky flavor.
