Fusion Beef Bulgogi Tacos
Korean-Mexican Fusion by Seoul Food, Bangkok, Thailand
Sukhumvit Plaza is Bangkok's little Koreatown, but instead of a huge neighborhood like Chinatown, it's really just an old multifloored semi-open air shopping mall filled with all sorts of Korean businesses, mainly restaurants.
On this early afternoon, I had come to Sukhumvit Plaza for one thing: Seoul Food.
I'm a huge fan of fusion cuisine. I love the idea of taking the best parts of two unique and interesting flavor profiles and combining them into something amazing and new. When I first heard about Seoul Food, a Korean-Mexican fusion taqueria, I made it my priority to visit next time I was in the area.

I ordered the beef bulgogi tacos, which were as amazing as they sound!
Beef bulgogi is a Korean sweet and savory dish made from thin slices of beef marinated in a mixture of soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, and garlic. The name bulgogi literally means "fire meat", referencing the traditional cooking process of grilling the beef over open flame.
The marinated meat was served in classic Mexican street-style soft tacos with a slaw made from shredded carrot, pickled onion, and cilantro along with a sweet and spicy Korean sauce and a more traditional Mexican fresh and spicy salsa verde. As you can imagine, the flavors melded together perfectly. Beef is already a fantastic taco filling, and the sweet Korean flavor undertones added a wonderful complexity to go with the otherwise spicy sauce.

Location
Seoul Food is located at Sukhumvit Plaza, also known as Korea Town, at Sukhumvit Rd, Khwaeng Khlong Toei, Khlong Toei, Bangkok 10400. It's just across the road from Terminal 21 shopping mall and a very short walk to MRT Sukhumvit or BTS Asoke stations.
